Technical Diving Courses
Technical diving courses provide the techniques and procedures necessary for diving beyond recreational dive limits. These are some of the most intensive, yet exhilarating, courses you'll find. Technical diving isn't for everyone but if this type of diving appeals to you and you're willing to accept the risks, responsibilities and obligations, you'll find it one of the most rewarding dive experiences you'll ever have. Scubatech offers training for Technical Divers based on the PADI Tec Deep Diver series of courses as well as a short Discover Tec experience.
Technical diving requires dives under conditions that are not covered by normal holiday insurance. In some cases, even normal scuba diving insurance is not adequate. In order to make use of any of our technical diving services, you must provide proof of diving accident insurance which covers technical diving activities.
- Discover Tec
- Curious about technical (tec) diving, but not sure about jumping into a course? Discover Tec is a short confined water experience that allows you to give technical diving a try. You get to wear all the extra tec diving gear and take it for a test dive where your maximum depth will be 10 meters or less. Your PADI Tec Instructor may introduce a few basic skills, such as primary to secondary regulator switch and gas shutdown procedures.
- Tec 40 and Tec 45
-
At Scubatech we offer the Tec 40 and Tec 45 courses combined to optimize student learning and retention of the practiced skills with an intensive 7-day program. The course price includes PADI materials, certification, rental of a twinset, weights and all gas fills but excludes rental of the full set of equipment. Students are strongly recommended to purchase their own equipment for technical diving and we are happy to assist and advise.
The PADI Tec 40 course is where you transition from recreational scuba diving to technical diving. It's the first subdivision of the full PADI Tec Diver course and bridges the gap between no stop diving and full technical deep decompression diving. You gain experience and begin building the knowledge and skills you need to continue your tec diver training. You will qualify to make limited decompression dives to 40 meters.
The PADI Tec 45 course is the second part of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver program. You'll extend your depth limit to 45 meters and learn to plan and execute repetitive decompression dives using a single decompression cylinder. You'll also make accelerated decompression dives using EANx or pure oxygen. This is a course where you'll rise to the challenge and make the commitment to become a technical diver.
To start the combined Tec 40/45 program with us, you need to:
• Be a PADI Rescue Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox Diver and Deep Diver
• Have a minimum of 50 logged dives of, with at least 12 dives on enriched air nitrox deeper than 18 meters and 6 dives deeper than 30 meters
