Hi, my name is Derek Chircop and I would like to welcome you to our little bit of Malta on the Web. I have been diving since I was 11 years old – not surprising as my father was a commercial diver in the 1960’s. I have been an instructor for over 32 years. I hold senior instructor qualifications with PADI, CMAS, IANTD to name a few. To date I have logged over 29,000 dives of which 22,000 in Malta and I still love it! You can be assured I will know how to get the best out of Malta’s 200 dive sites for your diving holiday. It is a great feeling when people return year after year to dive with me and the Scubatech team, often becoming good friends along the way.
Marion de Water
Hi, my name is Marion. I have been diving since 1991, first CMAS, later I became a PADI diver. And since 2019 an Open Water Instructor. I have been diving in several places, but mostly in Malta. Diving in Malta never bores me, always different things to see and discover. I love teaching other people to enjoy the underwater life. I work part time at Scubatech, because I work as a nurse as well. Diving however has my preference, so when I can, I make time for diving. Diving is Fun! Hope to see you at Scubatech one day and give you the time of your life under water!
Hello everyone! My name is Douwe and I’m originally from the Netherlands. I became a PADI Open Water Diver in 1996 in Phuket and I have been diving ever since all over Thailand and the Philippines, in Indonesia, in Australia, Mauritius and now in Malta. Over the years I have also taken up technical diving and I am a TDI Extended Range diver and have done a number of wreck dives up to 55 meters depth. Technical diving has become another passion. In 2019 I decided to step out of corporate life and make diving my profession, first in the Philippines and since 2020 in awesome Malta. I am now a PADI instructor and specialty instructor and a partner in Scubatech Diving Centre.
Eva Borreguero Peroliu
Hi there! My name is Eva and I come from Barcelona. I had my very first contact with diving on 2018, when I became PADI Open Water Diver in L'Estartit (Spain). However, I remember watching marine life documentaries as a kid- may I able to breath underwater one day and meet all those beautiful creatures? On the 31st of December same year I was in a plane heading Dominican Republic for my IDC. Since then I've been diving in Costa Brava (Spain), Dominican Republic and now in Malta. I absolutely love to teach diving and the post-dive smile after the very first dive. I am a PADI and SSI open water and specialty instructor and happy to be part of the Scubatech family. Diving is the best kind of meditation: inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.
There is nothing better than the years of experience that Derek and his team have, which makes each dive perfect in terms of organisation, professionalism and knowledge of the dive sites in Malta. Highly recommended! Thank You!!
