Specialty Courses
PADI Specialty Courses give you the tools to enhance your exploration and extend your diving limits. Discover your unique diving aptitude - deep diving, photography, videography, fish identification or any of the many other diving specialties we can teach.
At Scubatech all Specialty Course prices include PADI materials and certification, land transportation to and from the dive sites and all equipment you need for the course unless explicitly noted otherwise. For the Digital Underwater Photographer and Underwater Videographer courses, students need to bring their own camera and for the Dry Suit Diver course we strongly suggest students have their own dry suit.
- Enriched Air Diver €150,-
- The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
Enriched Air, also known as “nitrox”, is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen loading. After completing the theory online or from a manual, you'll apply the knowledge you've learned by practicing procedures for obtaining and analyzing enriched air. You must be 12 years old and at least a PADI Open Water Diver to take the course. This course does not include any dives.

This is the Enriched Air Diver course including 2 dives during which you will be using enriched air nitrox and practice again the procedures for obtaining and analyzing enriched air cylinders. The course price includes the enriched air nitrox for the dives.

The lure of the deep. There's something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites while scuba diving. Sometimes it's a wreck that attracts you, and on wall dives it may be a giant fan or sponge. Whatever it is, to scuba dive with confidence at depths down to 40 meters, you should take the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course to learn about:
• Specialized deep diving equipment
• Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures, safety considerations and buoyancy control
• Managing your gas supply and dealing with gas narcosis
This course takes 2 days and involves 4 dives. If you are an enriched air diver, we provide free nitrox on the deeper dives. You must be 15 years old and have the PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher to enroll in the Deep Diver course.

- Wreck Diver €300,-

Malta is famous for its many wrecks, whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident or in the war, wrecks are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices. During this course you will learn about:
• Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.
• Surveying and mapping a wreck.
• Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.
• Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.
This course takes 2 days and involves 4 dives. If you're at least 15 years old and have earned a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher, you can enrol in this course.
