Meet The People Behind Scubatech!

Derek Chircop - Director of Diving

** Stop Press ** Read Derek's recent feature in Dive Magazine!

Hi, my name is Derek Chircop and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our little bit of Malta on the Web. I have been diving for as long as I can remember and I have been an instructor for over 32 years. I hold senior instructor qualifications with PADI, CMAS, IANTD to name a few.

To date I have logged over 25,000 dives so you can be assured I will know how to help you get the best out of your diving holiday or training experience with us at Scubatech.

I speak several European languages and take pleasure welcoming our guests from all over Europe and Malta itself. It is a great feeling when people return year after year to dive with me and the Scubatech team, often becoming good friends along the way.

I look forward to welcoming you personally when you visit our Dive Centre in St. Pauls Bay Malta.

Jo Palmer - Office Manager

Hi, My name is Jo and I am the office manager here at Scubatech. I am really proud to be a part of the Scubatech team and I aim to make your diving holiday perfect from the moment you book with us.

I love diving and first got the bug in 1996. Since then I have gained lots of experience diving all over Malta and qualified as a CMAS Instructor. If you dive with Scubatech it will be my pleasure to welcome you to sunny Malta and help you get the best from your time with us.

As you can see from my profile picture I have a great sense of fun (I'm pictured here with Derek and Rob!) and I hope some of that will rub off on you when you come to visit us here at Scubatech.

Arthur Gauci - PADI IDC Staff and Tec Instructor

I have been diving since 1988 initially as CMAS diver by 1999 I progressed to become CMAS 1* Instructor. After some seasons of Instructing and guiding scuba divers I saw my forward by joining PADI and becoming a instructor with the organization.

With my extensive local diving experience coupled with passion for diving led to become more involved with the tec diving scene, which is really buzzing on our island. Becoming a Tec Instructor seemed as a natural progression for me, as this kept me well involved in the Tec buzz.

Diving is my way of life nowadays, if you wish to find me I am either diving, servicing scuba equipment or just hanging about at Scubatech.
